In digital analytics you have access to a multitude of metrics and dimensions to report on. However, it is hard to know which ones are relevant and can get you closer to your business goals and KPIs.

Most companies do not have an up-to-date digital analytics and data measurement plan document. But this document is necessary to outline objectives for the website or app with targets. It can also lay out the metrics to use in the analytics tool to visualise how product and marketing strategies contribute to said objectives.

Sometimes companies do not even realise that they should measure something more relevant than ‘vanity metrics’ (e.g., Sessions). They might also be unaware that the metric being reported on is inaccurate due to the implementation of your Analytics tool having issues and providing misleading information.
